Golghar is one of Bihar’s most prominent attractions. It is a huge grain-storage structure in the form of a beehive, built by Colonel John Garstin in 1786 to store grains during the British reign. This marvelous building stands at an impressive 125 ft at its highest point, and its roof can be accessed through a winding staircase of 145 steps inside the Dome. From the terrace of Golghar, one can catch an awe-inspiring panoramic view of the bustling city of Patna which stretches up to 6 km in circumference - no experience quite like it! Despite being more than two centuries old, it still stands strong and tall. A visit to Golghar is certainly a highlight for any tourist visiting Bihar and should not be missed!
