Gulmarg is a town in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the highest mountain resort in the state. Gulmarg is famous for its skiing, mountaineering, and trekking. The road to Gulmarg is so steep that it can only be climbed on foot or by a small vehicle with a local driver. Gulmarg is located at an altitude of 2,813 meters (9,283 ft) above sea level. The landscape here is quite beautiful with snow-covered mountains, pine forests, and glaciers. In summer, Gulmarg is a popular destination for trekking, bird watching, and hiking.
