Kupwara is a town in Jammu and Kashmir, located in the northwestern part of the state. The town is situated at an altitude of 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) and is surrounded by the Pir Panjal and Himalayan mountain ranges. Kupwara is home to a number of tourist attractions, including the Kupwara Fort, the Nuribagh Mosque, and the Lolab Valley. The town is also known for its handloom and wood carving industries. Kupwara is a major tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir and is frequented by both domestic and international tourists.
