Suru Basin is located at the entrance to the Srinagar Valley in the Kashmir Valley. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and at its southern end, it opens into the plains of Srinagar. The basin is a scenic beauty covered with lush vegetation and carpeted with thick wild grass. The Suru River (also called Sindh River) flows here, forming a narrow valley. The Suru River's gurgling waters and lush green surroundings lend a pleasant accompaniment to this serene setting.
