Located in the cold arid desert of Ladakh, Hemis National Park is India’s smallest national park. The park is the largest home to snow leopards in India. Hemis National Park is home to many rare animals like the Snow Leopard, Tibetan Wolf, Markhor, Chinkara and Ibex to name a few. The park is also home to 34 rare species of plants like Barberry, Foxtail Millet, Cheera and Rock Hyrax. The park is visited by tourists throughout the year.
