The 108-foot-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is one among the many things to fall in love with in Nubra Valley. It is a top tourist destination in Nubra Valley for a variety of reasons, including its geographic location, size, and aesthetics. It is a statue of Jampa Buddha that is perched atop a monastery and is renowned for its complex carvings, masterful craftsmanship, and bright colors. A large selection of Buddhist books and statues, including those of Guru Rimpoche and Shakyamuni Buddha, are kept in the hall below the statue. Building Maitreya Buddha statue was done with the intention of fostering peace and harmony in the region.
