The Spituk Gompa, located in Leh, region of Ladakh, is a relatively ancient monastery, dating back to the early 11th century. The monastery houses some rare Buddhist manuscripts. The monastery is located high on top of a hilltop, surrounded by green fields and overlooking the Zanskar River.
