Turtuk is at an altitude of around 10,000 feet. This lofty elevation means that Turtuk enjoys a pleasant climate year-round, with mild winters and temperate summers. The Turtuk region is also home to several lakes, including Lake Pangong, which flows into Lake Tso, the largest lake in Ladakh. The lakes and mountains around Turtuk are a popular sight for hikers and climbers.
