Bawangaja is a prominent Jain pilgrimage site in Madhya Pradesh. This temple is famous around the world for the statue of the first Tirthankara, Lord Adinatha, which is carved into the mountainside. This 84-foot-tall statue is sculpted in the middle of the Satpura mountain range at a height of 1300 feet. Apart from the statue, which is the main attraction of the place, there is a complex of eleven temples that is constantly crowded with pilgrims, devotees, and even tourists. Furthermore, this picturesque region is popular with wanderers and environment enthusiasts due to the lush greenery and dense woods of the Satpura Ranges in the background.
