Jata Shankar Caves
Jata Shankar is a natural cave and holy site in Pachmarhi. This is a beautiful limestone cave with stalactites and stalagmites that resemble Lord Shiva's matted hair, hence the name Jata Shankar Cave. The cave also has stone structures that resemble Sheshnag, a serpent with a hundred heads, depicted in Hindu mythology, and it is believed that Lord Shiva hid inside the cave from Mahisasur, another Mythological character.
