The world-famous Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh, built in the third century, is a relic of Sanchi's glorious past. This stupa, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, speaks volumes about Sanchi's rich cultural and architectural grandeur, as well as the rich legacy of Buddhist aesthetics. The most intriguing aspect of the Sanchi Stupa is that Lord Buddha has been symbolically represented by footprints, wheels, and thrones rather than his own image. There are also beautiful carvings that depict the existence of Buddha and his various incarnations from the Jataka tales.
