Gurdaspur, which was established at the start of the 17th century, is named after Guriya Ji. The city's topography is diverse, with mountainous areas, undulating terrain, the floodplains of the Ravi and the Beas, and highland plains. Gurdaspur is an excellent spiritual retreat because of its people's friendliness and hospitality, as well as the number of Sikh temples and deras. The Dera Baba Nanak, Barath Sahib Gurudwara, Achal Sahib, and many other shrines spread around the countryside provide wonderful spiritual experiences.
