Rupnagar, formerly known as Ropar, is an ancient city on the Sutlej River's left bank. This city bears the name of Prince Rup Sen, the 11th-century ruler of this region and the son of Raja Rokeshar. It is a beautiful city that has undergone changes through time and is now one of Punjab's most well-liked tourist spots. It is also one of the larger Indus Valley Civilization archaeological sites. In Rupnagar, there are a lot of historical and spiritual sites, including Gurudwaras like Gurudwara Bhubour Sahib, Gurudwara Tibbi Sahib and Gurudwara Bhhatha Sahib.
