Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra is a beautiful mosque constructed in the Indo-Islamic architectural style. Adhai, which translates to 'two and a half' in Hindi, refers to the two and a half days it is believed to have taken to build the mosque. The mosque was built in AD 1199 and is made of yellow limestone with inscriptions from the Holy Quran and various floral designs inspired by Arabic architecture. This monument is one of the most iconic in both the city and the country. In fact, it is the oldest mosque in India and unquestionably one of Ajmer's oldest still-standing monuments.
